Aldo Goes to Primary School provides a fascinating and valuable insight into the impact of the physical environment of school on an autistic pupil.
The publication emerged from a study by McNally Morris Architects in 2012-13, but it is still highly relevant today. Planning and modifying buildings and classrooms, even if they are small changes, can have a huge impact on the individual’s ability to learn, interact and emotionally regulate. This book allows everyone to see the school environment through the eyes of an autistic pupil, and provides ideas for changes.
