Books Beyond Words create picture books suitable for teenagers and adults.
In the absence of text, the reader can tell the story using their own words and from their own perspective. This may help the reader reflect on their own personal experience of lockdown. The stories in ‘Good days and bad days during the Lockdown’ may also be used as a starting point for parents/carers to explore the concept of self-care strategies with the child or young person. For example, the young man in the first story wanted to go and play badminton, what could he do instead? There is no requirement to read the book cover to cover. Indeed, you may only focus on one or two stories that are meaningful for you/ your child.
