Staff at one of the centre’s referral schools, Sacred Heart Primary Tattyreagh, Omagh have worked hard at helping one pupil with autism cope with using the hand dryer in the school toilets.
Together they created the character ‘Pete’. They spent time cutting out and sticking on his face to the dryer. The staff then spent time letting Pete dry their hands, even the school principal got involved and let Pete dry his hair! Taking a fun and playful approach to this daunting task really helped put everyone at ease.
