The Centre is starting 2021 with the launch of new monthly themes.
Each month the social media pages will focus on a different topic relevant to autism. January posts will shine a spotlight on ‘Siblings’.
The siblings of autistic children and young people can provide a valuable source of support, learning and fun! Relationships with brothers and sisters are among the first relationships developed by many children. Although there can of course be daily conflicts, even these offer an opportunity to learn about interactions and emotional regulation.
To launch this first topic in this monthly series, the Centre encourages you to read one of the early Research Bulletins, on the topic of Siblings, which includes an interview with Julia Pithouse, a parent of two autistic children:

Resources to support siblings and relationships with them will be released throughout this month.
